To optimize the electric hybrid benefits, ZES engineers electrified the power steering, air brakes, and air conditioning. These innovations compound the fuel efficiency savings and emission reductions.

To realize these savings, the driver does not have to do anything differently than he would do in any other truck on the road today. ZES is meant to be seamless to the driver.

ZES ELECTRIC TRACTION

Propels Heavy Duty trucks – fully loaded, on electric power of speeds up to 20 MPH. The ZES solution enables truck operators to propel their vehicles using electric power during inefficient low speed drive cycles and use the diesel ICE during the more efficient operating conditions. As a result, while in idle, creep, reverse, and driving in congested areas you are on electric power.

ZES BATTERY PACK

Specially formulated Lithium-ion cell chemistry provides the high energy density, high efficiency and long cycle life required for demanding Class 7 and 8 drive cycles. Additionally, the ZES Battery Management System is custom designed to further optimize efficiency and battery life.

ZES OPERATING SYSTEM

The Patented ZES Operating System manages the electric energy that propels the loaded tractor/trailer forward. The ZES Operating System also manages the auxiliary motors including the HVAC, Power Steering and Brake Compressor. When you are at Idle, you are actually on "Electric Idle". The diesel ICE is off, the electric battery power is on –  along with your accessories!

Additionally, the Operating System includes a ZES Data Logger, which logs emission reduction and fuel savings. ZES has an Electronic Data Link, which enables the operator to optimize battery range in "non-attainment" zones.
